Wakeboarding is one of the easier water sports. It involves riding a board behind a motorboat while holding onto a rope. Wakeboarding is a great alternative for windless days since the technique of standing on the board is the same as in kitesurfing. It serves as an excellent complement to kiting and is highly progressive on its own.
Wake training
Our training system is highly progressive. We start with theory on the beach, then move on to water starts with short lines and low, safe speeds. As the student progresses and gains confidence, we gradually lengthen the lines and increase the speed.
Additionally
Wakeboarding is a fantastic activity to enjoy with friends on a boat, but it’s also an excellent training method to gain control over the board. The technique for riding the board is practically the same as kiteboarding, making wakeboarding a great complement to kite training as well.
History
Wakeboarding emerged in the 1980s thanks to Tony Finn, a Californian surfer who created the first board, the „Skurfer.” The sport’s rapid development was accelerated by the Hyperlite company and the establishment of the International Wakeboarding Federation in 1990. Over time, new tricks and the lifestyle associated with wakeboarding attracted enthusiasts worldwide, making the sport an icon of extreme lifestyle. From the X Games to local gatherings, wakeboarding is not just an activity but also a way of expressing oneself and enjoying life on the water.
